DO WHAT? RASCAL FLATTS GUYS ONCE WERE IN LITTLE BIG TOWN

June 11, 2012

Secret revealed! Before they formed Rascal Flatts, Gary LeVox says he and Joe Don Rooney—at separate times—were part of an ever-changing Little Big Town.

“I was kind of with Little Big Town for a little while,” Gary told reporters before his CMA Music Festival appearance Sunday night (June 10).

“We were together doing some stuff and I kind of went off doing my own thing. And then they attacked Joe Don with a position,” he said.

And the Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus once sang with LBT’s Jimi Westbrook in college. Funny thing is, Little Big Town is now opening for Rascal Flatts on the current all-group tour.

“It’s kind of weird how it all came full circle with Jon Don and I both having little stints in Little Big Town,” Gary said.

Fans can look forward to the groups sharing the stage during the Flatts tour. Gary said Rascal Flatts and Little Big Town got together recently at Jay’s house to record a cover of “We’re an American Band.”

“We’re all splitting verses and there’s a lot of voices. We thought it was a great idea at the beginning until we got the catering bill,” Gary said, laughing.
